Mission

Through the integration of research, training, and teaching, CDHA aims to increase the understanding of social and behavioral processes related to health and aging. CDHA's interdisciplinary research program is designed to create links between social demography, biomedical, and epidemiological research on health and aging. Research focuses on five major themes: aging and the life course; biodemography; determinants of disparities of aging trajectories; health economics and health services research; and impacts of place on aging processes.

External Network Core (Michal Engelman) to develop innovative research networks within and beyond CDHA by organizing conferences, workshops, and seminars on critical themes; sponsoring novel modes of local data dissemination and new data user training; and pursuing focused outreach and professional development activities. 
  5. Remote Data Enclave Core (Andrew Arnold and Yang Wang) to support the analysis of restricted-use data resources under secure conditions and integrates with a state-of-the art Federal Statistical Research Data Center facility on the UW-Madison campus.
